Privacy Policy

What we collect
Camp Finder collects the information you provide directly: your email address when you subscribe to alerts, and the search criteria attached to that subscription. We do not sell or share your information with third parties for advertising.
If you create an account, we also store the email address you sign in with and any parks you choose to save (“favorites”). Account sessions are managed via short-lived authentication cookies necessary to keep you signed in. We do not sell or share this information with third parties.
We also store anonymous usage events to understand how the service is used — which pages are visited, which searches are run, and whether alerts get confirmed. These events do not include your email, name, or any other personal identifier. A short-lived browser cookie holds a randomly-generated visitor ID that rotates monthly; it cannot be used to identify you. Events are retained for 90 days, then automatically deleted.
If you choose to support Camp Finder financially, we store the email address you enter at checkout, the amount and currency you contributed, and the Stripe identifiers for that payment — and, for monthly support, for the subscription. This is the only information about a contribution that reaches us.
Why we collect it
Your email is used exclusively to deliver the alerts you opted in to. Your search criteria are used to identify available campsites that match what you asked about. Both pieces of data are deleted when you unsubscribe.
How long we keep it
Active subscribers' data is retained for as long as the subscription is active. After you unsubscribe, your row is fully deleted within 30 days by an automated job.
Account data (your saved parks and sign-in email) is retained for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account at any time from your account page, which permanently removes your saved parks and auth record. Alert subscriptions created under the same email are unsubscribed separately via the link in any alert email.
Contribution records are financial records, so they outlive the deletion jobs described above: unsubscribing from alerts or deleting your account does not remove them. We keep them for as long as tax and accounting rules require us to.
Children
Camp Finder is not directed at children under 13. By subscribing, you confirm that you are 18 years of age or older. If you believe a child has subscribed, please contact us at privacy@adventureful.net and we will delete the record.
Your rights
You can unsubscribe at any time by clicking the link in any alert email. If you would like a copy of the data we hold about you, or a manual deletion ahead of the 30-day automated purge, email us at privacy@adventureful.net. We respond within 30 days.
If you have an account, you can delete it from your account settings page. This removes your saved parks and signs you out of all devices.
To ask us to delete a contribution record, email privacy@adventureful.net from the address you used at checkout. We will remove what we are allowed to remove, but we cannot delete a record of the payment itself while tax and accounting rules require us to keep it. Stripe also keeps its own record of the transaction under its privacy policy.
Security
Data is stored in a managed Supabase Postgres instance with encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest. Access is restricted to the operating team.
Payments are processed by Stripe, which handles the transaction under its own privacy policy. You enter your card details on Stripe's own hosted checkout page — they never pass through our servers, and we never see or store your card number.
Changes to this policy
We will update the version date at the top of this page when the policy changes. If changes are material, subscribers will be notified by email.
